Glass
Glass food and beverage containers that are clear, green, or brown. You will not be able to recycle plate glass, light bulbs, crystal, "pyrex" dishes, and flourescent bulbs. Rinse and remove lids. Don't break or smash glass containers. If you have too many glass containers for the recycling bin, put the excess in a paper grocery bag or cardboard box and set it out with your recyclables.
Newspaper
Newspapers can be bundled or placed in a paper sack. Do not set papers out on a rainy day. They will not pick them up if they are wet.
Aluminum Cans
All aluminum beverage cans can be recycled. Cans need to be rinsed out.
Steel (tin) Cans
Steel food cans, sometimes referred to as tin cans, are acceptable for recycling. You can leave the labels on the steel cans, but the top lid must be completely removed and put in with your regular trash. Cans also need to be rinsed out.
Plastics
Only plastic containers marked with the numbers #1 and #2 in the recycle symbol will be accepted. Any other plastic needs to be put with your regular trash. Caps need to be completely removed and put in with regular trash. containers also need to be rinsed out.
